The symptoms are most common when we stand after laying flat for a prolonged period of time such as when we sleep or after getting up from the sitting or squatting position. Some medical conditions and food sensitivities may trigger dizziness after a meal. Food sensitivities may cause some people to feel light-headed or nauseous. Eat some complex carbohydrates—whole-wheat toast with some jam, for example.
